What is gastric bypass?

In gastric bypass surgery, a portion of the stomach is cut first and only a small portion remains. The small intestine is also cut. This end connects to the rest of the stomach and the other is directed to the middle small intestine. In this way, swallowed food components are not broken down and undigested food is thrown into the colon. This distraction allows the gastrointestinal tract to absorb less and a faster feeling of fullness. In this way, normal food consumption is ensured.
